ALYSON HANNIGAN AND ALEXIS DENISOF

First Dance Song: “Over The Rainbow,” followed by “No Tengo Dinero” by Los Umbrellos

Orange County first dance wedding celebrity

Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof got married October 11, 2003 in the midst of a three-day celebration at Two Bunch Palms resort outside Palm Springs. The wedding reception was fun and included a trampoline and a photo booth to amuse wedding guests.

For this celebrity duo’s first dance, Alyson and Alexis used two songs. Their first song, “Over The Rainbow” has a beautiful and sweet quality that must have reached the hearts of their guess. I would have choreographed a romantic rumba first dance for Alyson and Alexis. Alyson’s custom-made ivory satin gown would have featured the Rumba cucarachas nicely! The couple would dance in both open and closed frame poses to maximize their first dance.

Alyson and Alexis’s second song, “No Tengo Dinero” is quite the wild card in comparison! The debut single released in 1997 and was a hit of the Danish musical group Los Umbrellos. The song is vibrant and was a hit internationally. I would love creating a Bachata surprise for this second part of their first dance. While the song is mostly in English, the Spanish chorus gives the tune Latin vibes. I picture Alyson and Alexis wowing their guests with surprise moves and maybe even a little silliness. Many of our Orange County wedding couples plan a fun second dance and it’s always a big hit with their guests!

AMY SMART AND CARTER OOSTERHOUSE

First Dance Song: “All I Want Is You” by U2 (played by two fiddlers)

Actress Amy Smart and HGTV carpenter Carter Oosterhouse got married on a memorable date, 9-10-11! The two, who met each other at an environmental conference, shared an eco-friendly wedding. The couple had everything recycled and composted from the day of the event and came away with just ½ bag of trash with 220 guests! Furthermore, the couple tried to keep all of their vendors local.

From the photos of Amy and Carter’s first dance it appears as if the couple did a slow sway for their first dance. Had we had the chance to give them wedding dance lessons, we would have enjoyed highlighting the love that these two have for each other. Their first dance could have included a few foxtrot patterns intermixed with some slow dips. The live fiddlers playing the U2 classic would have made their first dance moves sparkle.

CHRISTINA HENDRICKS AND GEOFFREY AREND

First Dance Song: “Origin of Love” from Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Actors Christina Hendricks and Geoffrey Arend got married in New York on October 11th, 2009. The couple got engaged after being introduced by Christina’s Mad Men costar Vincent Kartheiser. The couple exchanged simple and lovely platinum wedding bands made by Tacori. The bride shined in a Carolina Herrera ivory fils coupe gown.

For their first dance the newlyweds chose, “Orgin of Love,” from the 2001 film Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The rhythmic pacing of song makes for a great rumba dance. I picture Christina and Geoffrey moving across the floor to the beat of song and turning smoothly between verses. Christina shared, “We made our friends get on the dance floor with us halfway through.” Christina and Geoffrey’s first dance ended in a dance celebration with all of their loved ones. What a fantastic way to elevate the energy of a first dance!
