Tell us about yourself.

I am a married mother with 2 boys. In college, I studied Human Services with an emphasis on mental health. I believe it has been put to good use in the “dance business”

What made you start dancing?

I used to take my record player out to the garage and make up routines to teach my friends when I was a kid.

What style of dance do you do?

I am a former competitive American Rhythm dancer, certified Divida Instructor and well versed in all social dances.

Do you do any other type of dance other than Ballroom?

I prefer dancing with a partner.

What is the hardest part about dancing?

The repetition, it’s the only way to truly develop your skills.

How would you describe your teaching style?

I believe everyone can learn to dance, so I try to approach everyone at their level and then push them to where they want to go.

What benefits has dancing given you?

I started competing as a professional dancer at the age of 31 (when most dancers retire) it forced me to dig deep and push myself to places I didn’t think I could go. I am so proud of what I have accomplished it motivates me to do that for others.

What is your most memorable moment? (While teaching or just in general, you can choose)

I was doing a performance and literally felt the room silence. It was an out of body experience and could not believe how powerful dance could be.
