Wedding Dance Lessons for Celebrities Volume 3

April 29, 2016 by

This is the third volume of Wedding Dance Lessons for Celebrities where we continue to explore some wedding dance ideas for different celebrities depending on their song choice, personalities, and wedding venue. For some celebrities we were able to find more information about their wedding compared to others, but we worked with what we got. Here are some suggestions that we might do if these celebrities came to our Orange County Dance Studio, here at Bella Ballroom. We hope you enjoy the wedding first dance ideas!

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #1: Beyoncé & Jay Z

First Dance Song: “Crazy In Love” by Beyoncé & Jay Z

Wedding Venue: Jay Z apartment in New York

wedding dance lessons for beyonce and jayzOne of the biggest power couples in the music industry married on April 4th, 2008. Not many details are known about this special day, but we do know it was a small intimate wedding in Jay Z’s Tibeca apartment in NYC. I loved the fact that they picked the song they did together as their first dance song. “Crazy in Love” is not your typical choice when you think about a wedding song, but Beyoncé is not a traditional woman. The song is a bit upbeat so instead of doing the original version I would of picked Beyoncé’s slower version she did for the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Not only is it slower, but also it’s sexy and seductive which matches the personality of the bootilicous pop singer. A rumba would have been the perfect dance style because of its playfulness and sexy style. I would of love to see these to tease and be playful with each other in their first wedding song, while having them close and intimate on opportune moments. Regardless of how their first dance went, I’m sure it was beautiful.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #2: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

First Dance Song: “All of Me” by John Legend (Also danced to “At Last” by Etta James, “These Arms of Mine” & “Try a Little Tenderness” by Ottis Redding)

Wedding Venue: Forte di Belvedere in Florence Italy

wedding dance lessons for kim and kanyeThis couple had a lot of media attention by having their wedding in Italy. Kim and Kanye tied the knot on May 24th in 2014. It was a very private wedding ceremony and reception. Apparently they did a mash up for their first dance, starting off with a live performance from John Legend himself, singing “All of Me”. This song is so beautiful and a big hit even till this day. I’m sure it meant even more to Kim to have their dear friend sing it himself. I was thinking that simple turns and elegant moments of them holding each other tight during this song. The list of other songs is very pretty and would match the theme of their romantic songs they chose. Kanye supposedly ended the set with him rapping–no surprise there. Hopefully it was romantic and meaningful for Kim.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #3: LeeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian

First Dance Song: “When it Don’t Come Easy” by Patty Griffin

Wedding Venue: Backyard of friends house

wedding dance leeann eddieThe song “When it Don’t Come Easy” hits close to home with this lovesick couple. The development into their relationship was nothing close to easy so I thought it was really fitting and a good choice for their spring beachside Malibu Wedding in 2011. The song itself was simple and beautiful, much like the theme of their wedding, which was held in the backyard of a friend’s house where they had about 35 guests. So a simplistic and elegant wedding dance would be perfect.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #4: Fergie & Josh Duhamel

First Dance Song: “Sweethearts Together” by The Rolling Stones (2009)

Wedding Venue: Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, FL

wedding dance lessons with fergie and joshI love this next couple and think they are so cute together. They first started dating in 2004 and later married on January 10th 2009 in Malibu, CA. Josh Duhamel and Fergie had a super private traditional Catholic ceremony at Church Estates vineyards with 375 guests in attendance. It is no secret that Fergie loves glam, so it was no surprise that they went all out for their wedding costing at an estimate of $1 Million. Kid Rock, Slash, and Ferfie performed the song “All Summer Long”. Fergie is so fun and decided to have her wedding cake designed as a castle. My guess is that she is the princess and Josh her handsome white knight. It is known that the lovely couple did take dance lessons for their first dance to “Sweetheart Together” by The Rolling Stones. I think the song choice was a perfect fit for their personalities. They both seem so down to earth, fun, and playful. So for their dance if they would of taken wedding dance classes at our Orange County dance studio we would have liked to see their playful personalities shine in a fun song like this. I would have wanted Josh to show Fergie off with flair and style. Maybe a couple of fancy lifts and dips after he was done sweeping her across the floor and some playful cuddles. It sounds like a perfect ending to the ultimate fairytale.

Wedding Dance Lessons Couple #5: Kevin & Danielle Jonas

First Dance Song: “Only You Can Love Me This Way” by Keith Urban (2009)

Wedding Venue: Oheka Castle in Long Island New York

dance lessons for wedding daniella and kevinOne of our younger couples married in Oheka Castle in Long Island New York on December 19th in 2009. Danielle and Kevin had approximately 400 guests and exchanged traditional vows to each other. The reception was beautifully designed with very elegant white flowers everywhere, a polished white floor, trees, colored lighting and draped ceilings. Beautiful is an understatement. I was a bit shocked that this pop singer choose a beautiful country song as his first dance–I’m sure Danielle had a say in it. Nonetheless, I love that they did choose it. I would have liked to see these two do a romantic country two-step. Kevin would have the chance to show off Danielle’s elegance and grace when we spins her around and brings her to a cuddle position. Country Two-step generally goes around the floor, which would be perfect for all 400 guests to see them dance. Ultimately I would want to show off how in love they are. I love young love. It’s so pure and beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks reading of celebrity’s first dance ideas! If you liked any of these suggestions for your first dance, we’d love to help you at our Orange County Dance Studio at Bella Ballroom.
